- Derazey Gaspar Guiffropruggar Violin in Tampa, Florida For Sale

Beautiful old highly carved violin with the head of Gaspar Duiffrpruggar on the scroll.
The violin was made in France by the Derazey family in the early xxxxs.
There is a repair label inside which reads "Repaired by Frank Gray, St. Louis, MO xxxx".
The violin originally had a maple fingerboard which is shown in some of the pictures, but I had Geoff Seitz (who restored the violin) install an ebony fingerboard in xxxx. The maple fingerboard is included.
This violin has Oak leaves in all corners front and back and we think the painted picture on the back is of the person who originally commissioned the violin from Derazey.
The strings are wonderfully balanced top to bottom, and the violin can sound sweet and soft for walzes, or loud and full for bluegrass or classical.
Currently strung with Helicore heavy strings and has a bone nut.
