My compost is made of locally grown organic matter like palm fronds, plant debris,LEED certified sawdust from a green cabinet make to which we add nitrogen rich vegetable scraps, and horse manure from houses raised using organic practices. The process of turning the piles heats the compost to kill weed seeds. The final product is a beautiful, dark mulch of native organic material to feed your soil, reduce water consumption and reduce weeds. The process of turning the piles adds some sandy soil, so you get a black, clean smelling mix which can be used as a top dressing for your garden, turned into your beds, or sifted and used as is for a lovely potting soil.
